Hey, blogger family!!!!!!! So it has been awhile since I tried to get myself healthy and fit. I think life has just been too busy and I lost the motivation for the year 2017. I will try to get back on track this year. 🤞🏾 Now don’t hold me to any big promises. My goal is to take it one day at a time. Let’s take some baby steps and build our selves up. Starting with decreasing my sugary drink intakes and try to drink more water. Now, like I said baby steps so I will start off with a 14-day Detox Water Challenge and go from there.
As you all should already know drinking water is the best thing for you. Water is a purifier, a replenisher, and a hydrator for our body and all the organs within. It helps to flush out the toxins in our bodies. Doctors recommend us to drink at least 8 glasses of water, which is equivalent to 64 ounces, a day. That’s a lot! 😱 Especially for those like me who like juice.
Adding fruits 🍋🍊🥒and herbs 🌿🌿to your water helps make water more appealing in taste by making it slightly sweeter and refreshing. But wait!!! ✋🏾 Fruits and herbs not only make basic water delicious but it also adds minerals and vitamins making the water even more nutritional as well. Now I will be trying out a different detox water and will change it up every two days. Starting Monday we will start off with an Ultimate Detoxifier: Cucumber 🥒 … Lemon 🍋 … and fresh Mint Leaves.🌿 (I’m not a fan of cucumbers but for this challenge, I will suck it up and do it anyway) Here is why I’m starting with this one…
Cucumbers hydrates the body, reduces puffiness, and bloating, and flushes toxins. Helping cool the inflammatory response within the body.
Lemons are a natural detoxifier and can also aid wit bloating and fluid retention.
Mint soothes the stomach and reduces inflammation.
*cucumber, lemon and mint detox combination also helps clear up your skin.
Now its very simple all you have to do is fill your water bottle and or water pitch/dispenser with cold water. Then rinse off, slice up and add your fresh fruits and herbs of choice. (remember that herbs can have a strong flavor and may overpower your water so try not to overdo it) Let your water chill and let infuse inside the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes to and 1 hour. (I sometimes chill it in the freezer when in a rush).
*Water can last for up to 2-3 days. Lemons, cucumbers, oranges, and limes will last longer than other fruits. Berries and herbs will start to disintegrate within 1-2 days.
