Day 3 of my 14-day Detox Water Challenge

Hello! Hola! Bonjour! Salut! Namaste! To all my blogger family. I ‘m back on my third day of my Detox Water Challenge and I must say I’m ecstatic!  For those of you just joining in on the journey please Click Here to see the first day of the challenge were I talk about why and how I plan on doing this.  I have completed the first two days with a breeze drinking only water infused with lemon, cucumbers and mint leaves. I have to admit it was easier than I thought. See for those of you who don’t know me personally I hate cucumbers so two days of drinking water with cucumbers I thought would be a challenge, but it wasn’t so bad. I don’t know if my taste buds have matured now that I’m older or if it’s just my commitment to this challenge that allowed me to do it. Either way, I made it happened and it wasn’t so bad. Only thing I would say is that the taste of the lemon rim was a bit strong but maybe next time ill put half a lemon instead of a whole lemon. Here’s a proof pic below I took just for you.

So now that we are on day three its time to switch it up. Since we are in the middle of a harsh flu season, especially with mother natures’ inconsistencies I figured the next detox should be an Immunity Booster: Strawberry 🍓 … Orange 🍊 … and fresh basil leaves. 🌱

*Make sure to wash all ingredients before adding to your water.

Besides the great flavors, they add to your water here are some benefits…

Strawberries are energy boosters and will boost your immunity and are high in antioxidants and fibers, which will boost your digestion.

Oranges are very high in Vitamin C, helps to alkalize the body and they also help you lower cholesterol as well as blood pressure.

Basil is an anti-inflammatory as well as anti-bacterial. It can help curb appetites, settle upset tummies and a fluid retention helper.

IMG_1297  Water is a purifier, a replenisher and a hydrator for our body and all the organs within. It helps to flush out the toxins in our bodies. Which is why doctors recommend us to drink at least 8 glasses of water (equivalent to 64 ounces) a day.

Quick Reminders:

  • Herbs have a strong flavor and may overpower your water (a little can go a long way)
  • Let your detox/infused water chill in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes to 1hrs
  • Freezing  it can help cut time in half
  • Detox/ Infuse water can last up 2-3 days
  • Berries and herbs will start to disintegrate within 1-2 days while oranges, lemons, limes, and cucumbers will last longer than the other fruits.
